Library Budget for 2018/19

The Library's Draft Budget for 2018/19 and Library Plan & Strategic Resource Plan are now available for inspection and comment.  Requirements for commenting are available here.

Library & Information Week showcases the many and varied resources and services libraries provide to their communities.  Find yourself in your local library as we celebrate.

Dimboola Library - bookings on 5389 1734 or via ProScribe:

  • Tuesday 22nd May, 2.00pm Craftanoon - bring your own craft project to work on. 
  • Wednesday 23rd May, 3.30pm the Craftanoon ladies will be demonstrating Quilling & Spindling, come along to watch and try your hand at these crafts. Strictly limited places.
  • Thursday 24th May, 9.45am Dimboola Library is hosting The Biggest Morning Tea in partnership with the HSC outdoor staff at 9.45am.  Book by 22/5/2018
  • Friday 25th May, 2.00pm Local Author of Gallipoli  - a Battlefield Guide, Pam Cupper is giving a talk on ‘I found myself in Australia’s Military history’. Book by 18/5/18.

Goroke Library is celebrating Library & Information Week with Afternoon Tea on Thursday 24th May, 2.00-4.00pm

Horsham Library - bookings on 5382 5707 or via ProScribe

  • Library Week Storytime on Monday 21st & Friday 25th, 10.30am.  This  is a great introduction to books and reading for little people, while Rhymetime on Wednesday 23rd May, 10.30am is a pre-literacy session for babies and carers. 
  • Tuesday 22nd May, 2.00pm join a Book Chat session to chat about whatever you are reading at the moment. 
  • Tuesday 22nd May, 6.30pm  Mums and Dads are invited to bring the family along to Bedtime Storytime.  
  • Thursday 24th May, 11.00am  Tricia Arber is demonstrating Glass Painting.
  • Friday 25th May, 2.00pm come along to discover Borrowbox – have you ever wondered what this is? Now is your chance to find out.

Kaniva Library will hold Afternoon Tea on Tuesday 22nd May, 3.30-4.30pm to celebrate Library & Information Week

Nhill Library will be displaying their range of genealogy and local history books, and online resources to help people find their family history on Thursday 24th May, and invite visitors to enjoy a cuppa while they browse through the resources.

St. Arnaud Library is inviting residents to join in a Behind the Scenes tour of the library on Wednesday 23rd May, 3.00pm to discover how the library works and the resources on offer.   Bookings to 5495 2188 or via ProScribe.

Stawell Library

  • Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea on Thursday 24 May,  10.30am. 
  • Friday 25th May, 10.00am-2.00pm come in for some Device Advice & Get to know your online library including the Catalogue, Databases, ProScribe, & BorrowBox.  Ring 5358 1274 to book a time.

Warracknabeal Library invites visitors to join in with a Library Quiz or Children’s Book Hunt Challenge when they visit the library during Library & Information Week.  Morning Tea will be held on Thursday 24th May, 11.00am - 12.30pm to support the Cancer Council‘s Biggest Morning Tea.


National Simultaneous Stortitme banner

National Simultaneous Storytime is a great annual event where the same picture book is read simultaneously right across Australia.  Join in on Wednesday 23rd May at 11.00 am at Dimboola, Edenhope, Horsham, Kaniva, St. Arnaud and Stawell Libraries.

Mobile Library timetable for July - December 2018

Please note changes to the July-December timetable for Week Two:

  • Donald, Charleton and Watchem visits will cease
  • Laharum changes to Thursday 9.30am -11.00am (first visit in July will be 12th July).
  • Marnoo changes time by 30 minutes to 1.30-2.30pm on Thursday.
